It has occurred to me on this special day for our great grandson's birth 3 years ago that HE brought a new little blessing into our midst.  However this one had and still has some special needs which we are trying to meet.  My point is this, I'm not sure where it is in the Bible, I attempted to use my concordence but to no avail.  However, somewhere in HIS BOOK, the BIBLE I believe that it says, "The LORD Giveth and HE taketh away."  If I am mistakeken, please forgive me, but it is a very true statement.
Thinking back now to 2012, March 3rd, at 6:30 a.m. the LORD paid a visit to my mother's home and that of my teenaged years and HE Blessedly took her home and saved her from great suffering from the cancer taking over her tiny body. He takes loved ones home all the time and naturally we grieve, sometimes feeling as if you will never really live yourself.  Yet we do forget in those times of strife that the LORD can also give and HE does.
Just think of all of the happy times we have as families, a wedding, a birth a graduation whether it be from kindergarden on up to college and possibly Medical or Law School.  All these things are blessings, but there are still others that don't appear maybe for years and years to be blessings.  I take as an example the problem child our son was in his teens.  There were many days and nights that I was afraid he was going to blow himself up, but the LORD had a protective hand over him and he has now grown into a responsible middle aged man who works and pays his bills as he should and he is here for his parents when the need arises.
So, you see there are many blessings coming to us that in our turmoil of grieving we may not recognize. Always keep your eyes peeled for the Gifts, the Blessings from our LORD.
In the words of a cousin taken home way too soon who wrote poetry and short stories and had just earned her Masters Degree she would closeout her writing with these words, "Live.  Love.  DO GOOD"

GOD BLESS
