OUR LITTLE TRIP TO NASHVILLE INDIANA
It was mid-morning when we left home and began the nearly 2 hour drive to get there. We had a nice little cottage for 4 already paid for when the lady from the relator's office called my girlfriend on her cell phone to inform her that our cottage was "out of commission at that time so they would have to move us to another cabin, one not so close to the village. We had to stop at the realtor's office to pick up the keys to the ne cabin we had been given, which was quite an upgrade. The log cabin had been built just been finished when the Civil War began and had been added onto and changed many times before we got there. Only the front sides remained the look of the log cabin but the rest of the house blended well with it.
We arrived during a very wet and rainy Friday with severe thunderstorms all around us. We picked up the keys and went out to the cabin and unloaded our things and then went in search of somewhere to eat and to get a few groceries in. We got back to the cabin shortly after 6 pm amid strong storms which blew us all around. It was bad weatherwise when everyone was up on Saturday morning my husband looked out the window and saw what looked like a river coming down the hill behind the house.
Driving into town was an experience to say the least. All along the road road crews had been out clearing the roads of downed and uprooted trees. Even more had been struck by lightning. There were spots in the road where water ran deep and fast across the road yet my friend's husband kept on driving.
After seeing the sights, we went back to the cabin where I had pulled pork on for our supper and we watched videos. All in all it was a very nice trip with the exception of Friday and the trip down there, Friday was simply stressful and once I made it home I called family members, and the one sister told me we most certainly had been through a tornado.
